Kids R Back
My wife headed out before noon. She was meeting her sister. The two of them were going to the theater district open house. This shows off Houston’s music and performing arts, while promoting the upcoming seasons. My wife purchased a pair of season tickets to Theater Under the Starts. We have tickets for Cats, Chicago, Dr. Doolittle and Beauty and the Beast. All I care about seeing is Cats. I watched the video once and I like Andrew Lloyd Weber. I may end up taking the kids to Dr. Doolittle as my sis-in-law bought tickets too and we may buy that ticket from her. Wife was disappointed that she could not get tickets for the Broadway shows that are coming. I think she did well anyway.
It seemed like my wife had hardly left when my son called to inform that he would be ready to pick up as soon as he cleaned up all the scouts gear. I was working on 12 to Midnight’s July financials at the time. Well I dropped that and picked him up. He is sunburned a bit from swimming. Good news is he passed his First Class Scout swimming requirements. Swimming is what killed me in scouting. So I am glad he got that out of the way.
So he cleaned up and I worked on the books. Ate a little lunch and then we tried to play the Spycraft card game again. I also signed a conduct referral from school. He did not complete an assignment on time. I asked him if he had turned it and he said he did.
We played until 4:30, as I needed to pick up my daughter. Got over there and most of her old classmates were there. They were given their Yearbooks so they kids had been signing each other’s book and hanging out. My daughter had got all her signatures and I wanted to get back home. 12 to Midnight was supposed to have a meeting and I was unsure of the time. That’s when I find out that my daughter has left her bags in the van. We look for the mom that drove them and she went to mass. I ask somebody when does mass end and they inform met that it will last an hour. WTF. Don’t tell me to pick my kid up at 5 and then lock her stuff up and go to mass. My basest cave my urges coursed through my veins. I was of half a mind to walk in and drag the fool out. Pretty damn inconsiderate I think. But I respect church too much, even a Catholic church, too disrupt the goings on.
So I ask my daughter if there was anything in the bag she had to have for school. She could not think of anything. So we left. Woman called at 6, I told I would pick up the bag tomorrow. Really wanted to shout and tell her what an inconsiderate bitch she was, but my daughter has to attend Catholic school with the woman’s daughter for four more years and we already are down a peg as Protestants.
12 to Midnight did have a teleconference after supper. Which was good? My wife thawed out a mess a shrimp and we had shrimp cooked three different ways. It was heaven on a plate.
The meeting lasted two hours, until Ed’s or Preston’s phone died and we lost our connection. We are planning out our secret project and this meeting allowed us to present our idea list. I could not contribute a whole lot as my focus is Skinwalker, but some of the stuff these guys thought of just plain rock. This is our first time to really collaborate and have all of us coauthor a book. I feel really good about the whole thing and it should be just what we need to enter the print media with. So we gave out assignments and I have my next project when Skinwalker and Fire In the Hole are done.
Monday was its usual miserable self and then things got worse. My son had not turned in the homework he told me he did. He also had homework that should have been done during the weekend. The teacher took the time to email me regarding his deficiencies. I’m livid. Then when I pick him up for his shot he is playing Magic the Gathering card game. His home work is not complete. So he is grounded this week and he wanted to have a friend come over, as this is a long weekend. Not going to happen now. I also took his Magic cards for the rest of the week. He has an organization problem and I have to correct or he is going to have a hard time in High School and College. He does not watch out, I will pull him from sports. Such a waste because he’s a good athlete.
Got home and cooked some chicken for me and the kids. Daughter had so much homework. I don’t like to shower or go to sleep when the kids are doing homework. I want them to finish so they can take baths and go to bed. My daughter does not finish until 11:30. Ai Yah!
I used the time well. Jane and I chat on IM and I taught her how to dispose of spam on her blog. She’s starting to get hit with a lot.

I remember being the kid who didn’t do homework until the hour before class (while in another class). I hope I’ve grown passed that by now, I’m 24 years old and will be starting college in January.

I’m there with you Justin. In High School my mom used to wonder how I made it. I never brought a book home but I managed to pass everything. Mind you I never make honor roll until the last semester of my senior year and I did that as part of a bet.
I went straight to the army when I left High School and I was there for the next 8 years. Seeing life from that perspective gave me motivation to do better. So I graduated college suma cum laude after being in the middle of my High School class.
Reading your blog I think you will find yourself to be a much better college student. Maturity will do wonders for you motivation and GPA.

Your music gave me a lot of energy. Course now I’m at work and I’m dragging.
Look forward to hearing more in the future.
