Before the Storm IV
Had the best sleep ever. Was trying to respond to people last night, but I kept nodding off. Today ate some breakfast and then caught up on some blogging.
After that we went and picked up burritos at Freebirds. They were awesome. Then I went and bought gas. The lines were not too bad and I want to be able to move if things escalate here. Plus I will go home some day I’m sure. While sitting in the gas line I heard the post office is suspending service today and tomorrow up here. I brought all my bills with me to mail. So much for that strategy. Sorry DU I have your check also.
Then I went to Albertsons and they had things I had not seen in Houston. Water and ice. No milk could be found. I grabbed 4 cases of water, ice and some sodas. Gamers have to have their sodas. While in the que I chatted with a man that left Kingwood. He commented how a lot of the people fleeing are just running without any plan or idea of what they intend to do or where to go. That does not surprise me. Makes me count my blessing for having good frineds.
On the drive back to Preston’s I heard that the bad side of the storm will hit east of I-45. I’m west of there and we are still going to get hit with tropical storm winds. Thats good to hear. Kind of morbid when you are happy to catch a tropical storm, but one must consider the alternative. We still have to worry about tornadoes. Really my biggest worry is having a storm hit and just sit on us and we become oversaturated with water. I remember a storm doing that to us in the 90s. But I have seen a storm bounce of the coast like a top, so I’m still not going to call us safe from the worst of it.
We did a little yard work at Preston’s. We moved all of the stuff that the wind could blow and put it up. Think everything is secure. Going to get another controller for the X-Box and we are going to start the monster gameathon. some other folks will drop by when they get off of work to join in the festivities. Will peek here on occasion to give you all updates.
Also would like to welcome bossy little sis to my blog. Most of you have seen her, as she is Mrs SA. Glad she is safe and sound in Toronto.

No worries about the mail amigo. Just roll lots of dice and kill a few for me too ‘eh.
A nasty storm brewing outside could provide a lot of atmosphere for some ghost hunting… or an alien invasion

We just took a walk outside. Preston’s family, my kids and the dogs. Its still hot as hell like Texas should be. We are seeing a lot of clouds now, but still can have plenty of blue sky. But the wind is starting to blow real good. Its a steady thing.
