Weekends Past and Present
Been extra busy which you my loyal readers may have noticed. I’m going to disappear tomorrow again for three days as I go for my second Wood Badge training weekend. Will be camping this time. Once again no electronics allowed.
We have some major projects my fellow owls and I. We had to make a project to present to the other patrols and staff to aid in scout recruitment. We decided to display the fun climbing activities boy scouts can do. I did lay out for a 6 feet wide by 3 feet poster. I will try to figure out how to load it on the blog. Right now it is in a pdf format and I am at a loss on how to load the pdf. I am pretty sure I can create html in PageMaker. I’ll give it a shot when I have time.
We have a conservation project too. We’ll be cleaning up the camp a bit where it is overgrown. There is a small pier that the owls will be cleaning up in particular.
Personally, I must get my ticket approved. This is a series of five goals that support my value statement that I had approved at the last weekend. I have 18 months to complete these five goals or the ticket as they call it. Once completed I will have earned my Wood Badge beads, a wooden woggle, and the tan neckerchief.
Of course scouting is not the only thing that has kept me busy. Skinwalker is coming near the end and I had to review a lot of stuff. This last week has been spent focusing on writing or layout or goals. Haha writing or layout or goals, oh my. Where is the cowardly lion? This Wizard of Oz moment was presented by stress.
I still need to go over a few things on Skinwalker. I need to look at the Shaman and Skinwalker classes and take out the nonessential parts, as well as look over the spell lists.
Fire in the Hole is my next writing project and we hope to get that out in time for Christmas. Should be a simpler project, as we do not need to commission any artwork. I need to develop the adventure generators, while Ed is editing my first draft. We play-tested this module last summer and the guys enjoyed most of it. I was wicked in a few places, but you won’t get any spoilers from me.
Before I go I did squeeze in some fun last Saturday. We went to Spaghetti Warehouse in downtown Houston to have our annual dinner with the Alden Minor group. These folks play-test our games. This night was highlighted by the appearance or Sergio, better known as Obsidian or just O. He left Columbia to visit the states. He is an artist and he gave us the original sketches we commissioned from him for Blood Lines and Skinwalker. You can see a picture at the 12 to Midnight site. There are some pictures here. Damn I look like a pig eating like that. Maybe you should not look.
I hope each of you enjoys the weekend. We are going to have couple of campfires, so if you feel somebody caressing your shoulder it’s me. I’m thinking of you. Look up in the sky and I will know you see me too. Love you all. God bless.

You should have seen the blue skys this weekend. Clouds came and never lingered. Even the fog was not so thick in the morning time. Just a little mist.
