9 Weird Things
I just discovered that Chen tagged me. Plus I promised mistipurple that I would do this tag also. So I need to break my lethargic chains and post this entry.
9 weird things about me.
- I like to follow the candy season. It starts with Halloween and those corn oil candies like mellowcremes and candy corn. Then it goes to Thanksgiving with those candy pumpkin candies. Next is Christmas with those hard candies. The old fashion kinds that swirl and have all those Christmas candies. Valentines Day has the next offering with those conversation hearts and chocolates. The season ends with Easter which sees the candy marshmallow eggs. I love to eat the candy shell first and then let that marshmallow melt in my mouth.
- I don’t care about going to festivals in town or Houston, but I like to go to similar things that are require some travelling to get there. Especially, air travel.
- Movies can tear me up so easy. Chick flicks. Romances. Star Wars. Serenity. I can cry for about any genre. *snif snif*
- I get upset over very little things. An insignificant thing can totally set me off and gets me to shouting and yelling. Totally pissed off. Some one fixes the problem, removing the reason for me to be upset and I immediately turn off the fire. It’s like nothing happened.
- I love museums and historical markers. I have to read everyword when I find them. My kids can finish a museum in 30 minutes. I take at least a five times as long trying to get it all understood.
- As a writer I talk to myself a lot. To create better dialogue I will speak lines aloud. Sometimes I get loud and my kids think I’m talking to them or join my conversation. My missus recognizes this quirk and she just ignores me now.
- I love Halloween so much. But I don’t have any costumes or decoration. I guess it should come as no surprise that I have a lot of candy.
- I always get embarrassed when people thank me for having served in the Army. I just don’t think I did anything worthy of the accolades. Wish it would be focused on those that have risked their life, died, or have become incapacitated. I’m not worthy considering those who have truly suffered and sacrificed.
- I hate my job but I just keep going. Instead of looking for a new position or writing a blockbuster novel I just keep on doing the same old thing. That’s gotta change and soon.
These are my 9 weird things (for the moment). I think I did this post a long time ago too. Sure was hard to come up with 9. I know after I hit the publish button, more ideas will sprout.
This was an active weekend. Played D&D with my kids and their friends. We went to the Texas Rennaisance Festival on Saturday. Yesterday was my daughter’s birthday. I had a grand post planned in my mind. But I have insufficient memory and could not download my photos.
Still fighting for space.

I can relate to a couple of those things. Does that make me weird?
A few years ago I went to the Rennaisance Festival too there in TX. It rained and rained and rained. The kids were soaking, it was cold and I couldn’t believe how expensive everything was. We didn’t stay long. On the way back to the car Little Man lost one of his shoes in a mud puddle. I haven’t been back to one yet.

Oh gosh. Y’all really did not have a good time Daphnewood. I go every year and drool over swords and costumes.
I think weird is truly in the mind of the heckler. And you have the Blue Ribbon comment.

insufficient memory? disk space on your computer? time to get an external hard disk drive to store away some of your not-so-frequently-used stuff. hope to see some pix of the festival soon! Happy Belated Birthday to your girl!

happy bday to you gal!!
u are a concerned man with sensitivity to other ppl’s feelings. thats why you get emotional watching sad movies and can spend hours in museum.
which is good!
i m not a writer i dun think to myself a lot. i’d rather switched off- not thinking of anything at all if i ccould..
i think only when i m talking to other ppl. mostly topics turn out to be my crappy imaginations by the way. LOL:P
October 30th, 2006 at 8:16 pm
Your imagination is Winnderliu. So don’t feel like that. You have a neat creativity bone.

October 31st, 2006 at 11:35 am
You don’t have any Halloween costume? Thats ok,…just come as yourself. hahahaha!!! kidding SA!
*Ouch!*
October 31st, 2006 at 11:43 am
That would be scarey. I used to go to my friends house and watch scarey movies while drinking way too much when I was younger. Now I just pass out candy and thats that.
Imagines Pink Cotton running round in a circle with an Auntie hot in pursuit waving a rolling pin.
October 31st, 2006 at 11:58 am
some of the weird stuffs doesn’t sound/look weird to me… esp. no. 5. i too like to read historical markers in museums. family or friends who tag along with me always wonder why i take so long.
October 31st, 2006 at 1:13 pm

October 31st, 2006 at 1:46 pm

October 31st, 2006 at 3:36 pm
hey SA, you can add me to the “what?! No pictures?” list. I am dying to see them. You always have great pictures of your outings.
October 31st, 2006 at 4:41 pm
OK Daphnewood. I just need to figure out how to make some room on my puter. Then I can download em.
November 1st, 2006 at 4:49 am
For an adult.. liking candies so much is really weird.
I don’t fancy candies much.
And you tear easily?? Gosh.. hard to imagine..
November 1st, 2006 at 6:53 am
I wish I did not like candy at all ZM. And I really don’t always tear up. But I get very close to that point.
November 4th, 2006 at 5:06 am
yeah, i cried during titanic. because it was so long and corny.
you are an interesting person, sir. you sound like a good person to talk about stuff with over a beer (and a big bowl of candy).
