Kopi Dong
Kopi dong is one of my favorite sentences. It is a major component of my Indonesian language skills. In other words I probably don’t know a hundred words. But I can order coffee. I think this phrase is used in Malaysia also. I suspect I will be corrected quickly if I am wrong in this regard.

Looks like the kettle is on the boil. Whatever for? Any ideas. I suspect you may have guessed if you have been a consistent reader.

Look! See you were right. It is the Aik Cheong coffee. The same kind that Angelina Jolie threw up on me. Right Winn?

I made a little trip to the Chinese bakery too for these bao. They are filled with coonut paste. My missus favorite. Though she likes the crispy tops better. But they had none in the shop when I visited.

Now for the record. You all can see I shared my Aik Cheong Kopi with the missus. She was very delighted. Then she kicked me out of her office so she can go teleconference.

Then I finally sat down and sipped the wonderful brew that Kat sent from Malaysia. Thank you! Thank you! I cannot say enough times thank you Kat. It tastes wonderful with condensed milk. And domesticgoddess asked if I liked the coffee. I hope you are certain of my answer.

Have a cup your highness. Blue Ribbon for you hijackqueen.
November 14th, 2006 at 10:36 am
hehehe… loving hubby… a rather ungrateful wifey… she should have given you a nice peck on the cheek or something for the coconut bun and another nice peck on the other cheek for the coffee before kicking you out to concentrate on her teleconference!!
hahaha… you could tell that i am inciting anarchy here, right??
November 14th, 2006 at 10:48 am
Then can we say we have set and drank a cuppa together now Bkworm? Red Ribbon for you too.
You were right on top of this post your highness. I knew four Indonesian sisters (I adope them as my sisters) and they taught me this term. One worked as a waitress at school so that is what I would say when I ordered my coffee from her.
You and Bkworm chatting on IM to coordinate this posting your highness?
I think it means coffee please Bkworm. I need to call my sisters and confirm this.
Oh I did May. I actually recalled your comment and tried the hazelnut. It was delish. Don’t need to add anything to that one. Though my wife and son corrupted it with milk. White Ribbon for you dear.
Here’s a fourth place huggie misti.
I think dong is please Chen.
I love that bakery LB. It opened in the last couple months and they even take credit cards so I can always afford it. They also make nice chicken pies and tarts.
I prefer my coffee to be black like my soul Angel. Go gets some Aik Cheong lah. It has the nice paper filter so you can make it at work easily too.
Still can use the coffeemate hor?
Thanks for helping me with the Malaysian phrases Lucia. I will probably drink it black next time. Was not sure what to expect. I was expecting it to be strong like Viet Namese coffee, just because of the geographical proximity of Malaysia and Viet Nam.
So I had breakfast for dessert Daphnewood. I like starting my day like that. Only thing better is ice cream for breakfast. hehe Have not done that in a while though. Dun wanna give the kids such a bad habit. hehe
Sure I will use my virtual nasal sensor and torture you with the wonderful aroma Winn.
That is one reason we love her Winn. The other reason is she is Lara Croft. Wowzie!!!
So how was the coffee Laymank?
Ruh roh! Sorry I need translation Angeleyes. Wonder if this in the Coxsworth Singlish Dictionary?
November 14th, 2006 at 10:50 am
Oh she is very grateful YL. See the lovely smile. And I forget to take a picture during the smooch leh.

Too late now misti. We ate all the buns!
Whoa! I don’t know what the heck I’m saying Plinksan. Wonder if it is a Chinese word then. As these sisters were of Chinese ethnicity too. I cannot get that dictionary to work at, eh, “work”. *scratches head*
Wet mop on comment 7962. Try and keep it together. I’m calling Humpty Dumpty and a few other recollection agencies so we can get Plinky back in one piece.
It is really good coffee Mama Bok. I guess they can grow good coffee in those highland areas?

—–> orh… too busy smooching…
But IBM pays the bills so I gots to get out of the way.
—–> money talks the loudest!!
And what is the motivation for sparking domestic anarchy.
—–> malice is the sole motivation… in our lives there are always people who enjoys messing up stuff even if it is totally none of their concern… oops…
November 14th, 2006 at 7:30 pm
SA, when I first time I stayed overnight with the hubby, the next morning he was in a frisky mood. I was just shocked. I assumed people only did those kind of things at night and told him so. I said it was like having banana splits for breakfast. Guess what he made me for breakfast? Yep, a banana split. I am a big fan of ALL types of breakfast now
November 14th, 2006 at 7:35 pm
