Rodeo Time at the Texas Hug Hug Club

How did February seem longer than January? It turned out to be much more fun than January. But how could February help it, when it has Valentines, Chinese New Year, and Mardi Gras. And the Super Bowl too! Cannot forget that.
Taxes have kept me busy this month and provide me with a reason to stay up until midnight. I so want a good long sleep. Though my children conspire to find reasons to get me out of bed early in the morning. Little rat finks.
My iPod has made one trip to California and needs to make a second. My hold switch does not function. When I mailed in the iPod the first time they just reloaded the software and set it up to run on a Mac. Thanks Apple Tech Support for reading the letter that explained my problem. NOT! So this time I talked to a human instead of trusting the online system. See what happens this time. I extended my warranty for a year because I have so much faith in them getting it right this time. I hope they get it fixed right this time. Need to load some music up so I can complete a tag from May.
In Houston we are experiencing the rodeo. This starts in February and goes through March. International folks, this is the time you really wanna come to Houston. You want to come here, right? There is barbecue, cowboys, and all kinds of animals to see. The rodeo is a big deal here. Professional cowboys vie for cash prizes doing insane things like riding a mad bull, or roping calves. Children present animals they have raised in Future Farmers of America programs and millions of dollars are raised for scholarships. Me. I just want to go see ZZ Top at the last show. Uh, how! How! How!
With the end of the month it is time to chupulate the Hug Hug Club tally. But we have a few new readers and there are quite a few new lurkers peeking too. So I must refer these folks to the Texas Hug Hug Club rules. Go read that and you will understand what is happening. Okay! Who won now that May went on vacation, traveled for work, and then moved? Lets see!
February’s post numbered 15, which is one less than January. Six of those posts were chupped fast and furiously by L B. Our favorite Malaysian in Italia tallied 33 points (6-1-0) and he beat the next chupster by 10. Talk about dominant male. I proudly give L B this Blue Star!

The battle for second was brutal. Throw in Chinese New Years absences and I was really holding my breath to see who would be in the two spot. The scores were very close with 23 points triumphing over the next best 20. Such competition. I was sweating from the heat these two ladies generated in their chupping. But on the 28th day Angel grabbed the Red Star from my hand. Good job young lady! Way to go.

That leaves the White Star for Chen for the second month in a row. Such hard work. Something tells me you may have tallied a few more chups if you had not been distracted by Pink Cotton in Sarawak.
So will March be an intense month for chuppers? i think so. We have some new faces in the crowd and who among them will be vying for Ribbons. Rinnah maybe? Jo perhaps? We’ll have to wait and see. No resting on the top. Plus May has new roots. You better be fast now that Maccie has a new home. And one of these month’s my good mei mei, mistipurple, is going to get every single ribbon. I just feel it coming.
The point totals for February are:
LB 33 (6-1-0)
Angel 23 (2-4-1)
Chen 20 (2-2-4)
mistipurple 11 (1-2-0)
Rinnah 9 (0-3-0)
May 8 (1-0-3)
Bkworm 7 (1-0-2)
Daphnewood 6 (1-0-1)
Fantasyflier 5 (1-0-0)
Car@ 4 (0-1-1)
Huei 3 (0-1-0)
Wuching 3 (0-1-0)
Alisa 1 (0-0-1)
Etchen 1 (0-0-1)
M 1 (0-0-1)

Whooweee…rodeo!!..have you ever been a cowboy?
SA: On Go Texan Day everybody is a cowboy if you can sport a pair of boots, blue jeans, cowboy shirt, and a might fine hat. But a real live cowboy. I fall off horses more than I stay on.

your hug club cracks me up. I miss the rodeo so much. I love the catfish there (one of the rare times I will eat fish). And the atmosphere can’t be beat. My kids loved the AGventure. It gets better every year. In the past years I have seen Alan Jackson, Reba, Alabama (when it was in the Dome) just to name a few. Plus M-boy got to be a part of the exceptional rodeo when he was 5. Ah the memories. But I agree, if you are a visitor and want to see Houston, Rodeo season is the time to go. But visitors beware, people don’t usually ride their horses in the middle of the street all decked out in cowboy gear. Only during the rodeo weeks. Sorry to be so long winded!
SA: I loved the rodeo in the Dome. I remember my first rodeo there we saw Roy Rogers and Dale Evans. Roy was riding Silver and his dog Bullet was there too. You know Elvis even performed at the rodeo one year, though I did not go to that show. I even saw the Jackson 5 with Janet years ago. Must have been 74.
Thanks for sharing. Helps me to convince out of towners that this is a good time to visit.
