Birthday Do Wants and Don’t Wants
I have been tagged by Dr. Bernard Chan. Seen this meme going around and for a moment I thought it might actually pass me by. How can it do that? Especially since my burpday is this month too!!! But now the world has been righted as I script this meme.
My birthday wish list:
- I want some new dice. They are actually making some out of fossils and I think a set of those would be awesome. Talk about rolling the bones.
- The ability to convince my son that he should remember his homework before 9:00pm Sunday evening.
- To get the Ford Ranger up and running for the girl to drive.
- A pill that will shed off 80 pounds (36 kilos).
- An six month charter for a 747 and all the paperwork that will let me land in all the places I need to go to pick up friends as we make our way to the Maldives. Would like to make pick ups in Kansas, Minnesoto, England, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Australia. A stop in Hong Kong and China would be nice too.
- Directions on how to handle a blue blue teh tei.
- A cabin in the Rocky Mountains overlooking a lake with a six month lease. Nobody but me, my laptop, and a full fridge. Not leaving until a novel is written.
- Giggling Chinese babes that I can piak.
- A phone service that can do international SMS.
- A conversational dictionary (heavy on the slang) for Malay with detailed maps of Malaysia.
Birthday don’t wants:
- Screaming kids that tear up my house.
- A child’s report card that shows all Bs and lists incomplete work. Bs could be As with a little attention to detail and turning in the work completed.
- Bee Gees music.
- A full day of work.
- A full evening of taxes.
- Writer’s block.
- Crashing hard drive, losing data.
- Screaming Chinese babes that piak me.
- Morse code lessons.
- A speeding ticket.
And that is it. Not going to tag anyone. Think everyone has done this. And I don’t lazy to tag.
Meanwhile I am waiting on pins and needles for this to arrive:
This is the IBM Thinkpad T-60 that is on its way to my house. It has been assembled in Hong Kong and is somewhere between there and home now. How come it gets to go to Hong Kong and I don’t?
This machine is so smoking. I have been using my old lappie for quite some time. It is a Thinkpad T-23 and it had really gotten slow before the harddrive died. The new one has the duo core processor (1.83 ghz) with 2 gb DDR RAM. So hopefully no speed bumps. It has an ATI 128 bit video processor so I hope that means I can play Guild Wars with Pink Cotton on this while sipping a latte at Starbucks. I should be able to load quite a lot of software on here as it has a 120 gb hard drive. To prevent death by crashing I have a DVD writer for creating backups. Something I lacked on the other lappie. Also it comes with built in WiFi, and blue tooth so I can be productive on the go.
Now I just need a new cell with camera and blue tooth for blogging goodness.

Fickle-me still havent decided wat tobuy. But iWant anything 12 - 13″ MAX!!! I already own a 14″ and a 15″. And they are goddamn HEAVY!!!!

The IBM is still not here. This model is 15″ but it is only an inch thick and weighs 6.2 pounds (2.5 kilos approx). I buy IBM because I get an employee discount through my missus.
Good luck making the decision on your next lappie. This is always a touch choice and technology changes everything so quick too.

you need a cell with camera and 3G… or any form of quick internet connection for blogging via cell phone. last time i have a cell with bluetooth but no 3G but i can’t blog with the cell. now that i bought a cell with 3G, it was so easy to blog (send pics) via the cell.
SA: Okay. Yep. The memory is really important. Cuz I want a more convenient camera. My Canon is just so big, though I like it for vacation photography. Just in the way for blogging about food. Smaller is needed.
