Spain
The missus had wanted to go to Hong Kong in the next couple years to visit her family. Then she saw that China is having the Olympics next year, so no way are we visiting with demand driving up travel and tour prices.
I told her why not go the other way? She looked at me funny and I said lets go to Europe. How about Spain? I know somebody there and they have some lovely cities with a lot of history.

I would love to visit the Cathedral of Barcelona. When I lived in Europe I had the habit of walking into churches and looking around at the construction and art exhibited on the grounds. I like to look in every nook and cranny. I guess to find an accommodation we’ll have to look for Hoteles en Barcelona to find a place to stay.

Madrid is definitely a must see as well. I have read about so much history in this city. Heck it is the capital right? Of course there will be interesting things to see from old Spain all the way to the modern world. I know I will walk all over town so I am going to need to find some good choices for Hotels in Madrid too. Will need a comfy room and maybe a Jacuzzi at the end of the day.

SA: No one has given me a Malaysian doll. Only have Japanese, Chinese, and Korean dolls.
Of course you can come.

A gem of a city for design and inspiration. I haven’t had the pleasure yet, but my uncle lives in Valencia, and my cousin in Paris, so plenty of excuses! Now if I only earned something other than Malaysian Peso’s (I mean ringgit)…sigh.
SA: Gotta take advantage of those excuses and get over there. The way the dollar is going it will soon be worth less than ringits.

Go in the summer. The bullfights are interesting experience, but prepare for the blood and the gore.
Ah yes! The flamenco dancers are another ‘must see’ too.
Love it!
SA: Use to love watching Jose Fuliciano (sp?) dance flamenco. There was a guy with some sex appeal. Bull fighting. Could see that in Mexico and really I am only interested in seeing slaughtered beef in McDonalds and not in the arena.

Someday I’d like to visit the Sagrada Familia. It has a fantastic architectural design.
SA: I love all the little intricate things that make up these architectural marvels. Can ooh and ah at every corner.

SA: I believe it is displayed at the Reina Sofia in Madrid.

we were in the south of spain for about a week last year. Malaga (on the straits of Gibraltar) and Jaen, a small town in Andalucia where Vin lived for a year (he then lived in Sevilla for about 3 years). so it was like a homecoming for him. i totally enjoyed it and had to learn spanish the quick and extreme immersion way! pobre sila! we hung out so much with vin’s old friends i ended up not sightseeing enough - did not go to Cordoba for La Mezquita, etc. ishhh. excuse to go back??
would love to check out Barcelona too. the whole Catalonian region seems cool (btw, i’m told there is no bullfighting in Catalonia - it’s not a Catalan tradition).
